Untirta Established Cooperation with National Land Agency of Banten

Serang, January 1 2020 – Rector of University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (Untirta), Dr. H. Fatah Sulaiman, S.T., M.T. and the Head of National Land Agency of Banten, Andi Tenri Abeng, A.Ptnh, M.H. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Untirta and National Land Agency of Banten during the Land Exhibition: “ATR/BPN Banten Menyapa”. The event was opened by Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Head of National Land Agency, Sofyan A. Djalil at Plaza Aspirasi in Central Government Area of Banten Province (KP3B), Serang. At this event, Rector of Untirta was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, the Head of the BUKK and the Head of the Cooperation Unit of BAKP.

Signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Untirta and National Land Agency of Banten was held.

Untirta and National Land Agency of Banten signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as the commitment in supporting the strategic program of Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Head of National Land Agency.

Rector of Untirta, Dr. H. Fatah Sulaiman, S.T., M.T. explained that the signing of MoU showed the commitment of Untirta in supporting the strategic program of Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Head of National Land Agency, such as the acceleration of land certification and legalization in order to have legal certainty. “Untirta is supporting the implementation of national strategic and agrarian reformation. One of the scope of cooperation that will be carried out is the support of providing human resources. ” said Rector of Untirta, Dr. H. Fatah Sulaiman, S.T., M.T. This collaboration is also expected to open space for organizing scientific activities including in agriculture such as conducting seminars, public lectures, education for the community related to land law and others related to Agrarian affairs, spatial planning and BPN. “Untirta has competitive and superior quality human resources in the fields of science available at Untirta such as law, education, agriculture, engineering, economics, social politics and medicine” he added.

The Head of National Land Agency of Banten, Andi Tenri Abeng, A.Ptnh, M.H. submitted a report on the activities carried out. “The Regional Office of National Land Agency of Banten is targeting that in 2023 all land in Banten Province will have complete certificate”, she said. In addition, several programs of National Land Agency of Banten gave direct impacts on the community, such as this “ATR/BPN Banten Menyapa” event.

Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Head of the National Land Agency, Sofyan A. Djalil handed over certificates directly to representatives of the people of Banten Province. Furthermore, the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/ Head of National Land Agency on the same occasion delivered a number of notes including, that land that has been certified must be taken care of. “Land certificate is the proof of land ownership rights. If you don’t take care of the land, don’t blame it if someone else takes care of it.” he said. The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/ Head of National Land Agency also said that the certificates that were already owned could be used for business capital. “Land certificates can be pledged to the bank for the purpose of being used for productive matters.” he added.

The event began with a talk show on the theme of community empowerment through land rights guided by Elih Rahmatullah as the Head of the Determination of Land Rights and Empowerment of Land Rights of the Regional Office of National Land Agency of Banten and presented several speakers including the Director of Community Land Rights Empowerment, Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, the Head of the Cooperative Office and Micro, small and medium businesses of Banten Local Government, and two samples of successful entrepreneurs who initially started the business by utilizing land certificates given by the government of Hj. Eti Suheti is a pandan craftsman and Ieko Ratu Eceng, an entrepreneur of water hyacinth woven matting  in Cipondoh. (Sekar – Humas)
